Hi! I’m Annika. Welcome to my blog, where you will meet my completely unaltered, unedited, crazy thoughts, reflections and travel experiences. I am a 20 something full time auditor, part time wanderer, always looking for the next trip to wholeheartedly throw myself into.
My biggest passion in life is traveling, which is why I’ve dedicated an entire blog to just that.
I recently had an epiphany. I have been to so many amazing places, and had even more incredible experiences, but they’re not documented anywhere for me to remember. In pictures, yes, but when 7 years pass a picture isn’t always worth a thousand words. Sometimes the exact feelings you were having in that moment become too distant to recall. Entering actual words.
I don’t want to forget the feeling I got when standing on the 27th floor gazing out over Waikiki Beach, or how at one I felt with the under water world when snorkeling in St. Croix, or what it felt like slowly driving through the savanna in South Africa with an elephant family strolling along right next to our car, or how shooting guns in Texas was like, what kind of an experience it was to eat dinner by a street kitchen in Thailand, or how scared to death I was when my Family and I were stuck in an abandoned hotel in Florida during a category 4 hurricane, or how much fun I had being in a strip club in Montreal or how extatic surfing my very first legitimate wave in Portugal made me feel, or how in love I became with Amsterdam after just 48 hours.
So I decided that I need a place to jot down all of these incredible memories, a long side with all of the new ones that are to come.
This blog was started back in 2010, when my family ripped up our roots and moved to Connecticut in the United States. Fast forward 6 years and my parents have moved to Texas, while I decided to move back to Denmark where I am originally from. Now you can find me biking around Copenhagen where I live, breathe and smile on the daily. There are 2 posts left from the good old days, the rest have been deleted to help me out with a fresh start.
This won’t be the kind of blog with daily updates, possibly not even weekly. It’s going to evolve around my travels, past, present and future, more so than about myself.
I have been to so many wonderful places, and I’m intending to go to even more, therefore I feel that I am in much need of a place to document all of the incredible, weird and mind altering experiences I have had and hopefully will continue to have.
Tag along as I try to figure out where it is that I belong.
